Carried Before The Asking

There is a word that finally fit: rapture. Not achievement, but seizure — the body carried before it is asked, held in an embrace so total the only honest word for it is safe. This essay follows that seizure through Rupa Goswami’s stambha, the yogic udana vayu, Julian of Norwich’s enclosing love, and the Shaiva teaching of anugraha, the fifth act of grace that lifts the veil the self could never climb over on its own.
